NEW STUDENTS

Welcome to Dahlstrom Middle School!! We're so excited that you'll be joining us at DMS!! GO MUSTANGS!!

For students who move to DMS mid-year (2025-2026 school year):

Register online (here). If you have questions about the registration process, please reach out to our registrar at DMS.registration@hayscisd.net. She'll be happy to answer any of your questions about the registration process.
Please email a copy of your student's most recent report card to our registrar at DMS.registration@hayscisd.net. If your student is in special education, please include a copy of their most recent ARD paperwork. We always request your student's records from their previous school, but sometimes schools take 2-3 weeks to send us their records. If we can have their most recent report card and SPED paperwork prior to their first day at DMS, then we can make sure their set up for success.
On your student's first day of school, we will provide them with a copy of their schedule and a tour of our campus. Your student can bring a lunch from home OR they can purchase lunch at school. The best way to purchase lunch at school on the first day is to just pay with cash. Once they're in our computer system, then you can upload lunch money to their account here.
Please note that transportation (buses) typically takes 3 days to set up. You will need to provide transportation for your student to DMS for the first 3 days of school (until transportation let's you know they've set up a bus for your student).

For students who are moving to DMS for the 2026-2027 school year:

Make sure you've signed your student up for classes. All of our course information can be found on the Course Info Tab at the top of the page. New students will need to fill out a course selection sheet and email it to our registrar Ms. Fields at DMS.registration@hayscisd.net
Attend one of our Welcome to DMS Events:
- 6th Grade Mustang Camp: Mustang Camp is the perfect opportunity for your student to meet the 6th grade teachers, reunite with old friends, make new friends, and tour the Dahlstrom campus. Mustang Camp will be on (TBD-typically a few days before school starts). Mustang Camp is for ALL incoming 6th grade students (students who will be in 6th grade during the 2026-2027 school year). There is no registration for this event.
- Meet the Teacher Night: At Meet the Teacher Night, you'll be able to meet your teachers and tour the DMS campus. Students will need to come with a copy of their schedule, which can be found in the Parent Self-Serve Portal. Meet the Teacher Night will be on (TBD).
